About Linda & Harriett & Liz LibreLiz Coulson Libré developed a relationship with paper at an early age the way most people do - with construction paper, glue, and scissors – and moved onto more sophisticated art supplies in college. “I have always loved paper goods. Shopping for back to school clothes was not exciting for me. Shopping for school supplies, though, was heaven,” says Liz. “When I got to college and starting taking art classes, I knew pretty quickly that I would end up working with my hands and creating things. I love the process of and thrive off of solving problems creatively.” In 2007, Liz launched Linda & Harriett, named after two very important creative forces from Liz’s life: her mother Linda, an avid gardener and seamstress who passed away in 1998, and her great grandmother Harriett, after whom she was given her middle name. With a variety of inspirations ranging from vintage china to tree canopies over streets, Liz set out to create a line of luxurious paper goods that are simple, unpretentious and fresh – but never cutesy, frilly or boring. Injecting a good sense of color and fun into her designs, Liz provides personalized attention and love for every product she produces. Liz holds a B.A. in Art from Bates College. The company is based in Brooklyn, New York where Liz resides with her husband, John and their mischievous but well-intended dog, Kingsley. |
